Socks for Youth in Need Massapequa Students Donate to Emergency Youth Shelter

Members of the Massapequa High School Ames Campus Chiefs Challenge Club recently participated in a new socks collection to donate to Nassau Haven, a Family and Children’s Association residential emergency shelter for youth ages 10-20 years old. The students collected over 250 pairs of new socks and welcomed Nakita Hyman, Nassau Haven Street and Community Transition Coach, to Ames to give her their donation. She showed much gratitude and the students were excited to be able to provide her organization with socks, especially during this holiday season.

Chiefs Challenge Club members are passionate about spreading kindness, tolerance and respect. It is through this club that students continue to foster a positive connection to youth, which they learned the significance of through Challenge Day, a social emotional health program held at the Ames Campus earlier this year.
