After countless conversations, classroom visits, and thoughtful exchanges, I am thrilled to announce that at the September 12th Board of Education meeting, my team and I unveiled a community inspired vision for Massapequa’s future. And last Thursday evening, the Board officially adopted our new vision, mission, and Profile of a Massapequa Learner and Leader! 

Summer gives way to the new school year with approximately 6,500 students arriving across Massapequa’s nine schools over two days at the beginning of September.

I hope you all had a wonderful summer! I am thrilled to share the highlights of this remarkable season through the Massapequa Minute and Moment and to warmly welcome you to the 2024-25 school year.

What a fantastic school year it’s been! We have finally arrived at summer vacation, a time for rest and relaxation.

We have officially reached the last month of the school year and the excitement of summer vacation is just around the corner.

I hope this message finds you brimming with anticipation for the exciting journey ahead! As Superintendent of Massapequa Schools, I'm thrilled to announce the launch of our "Portrait of a Massapequa Graduate" through a ThoughtExchange.

A very late spring break has come to an end, and I hope everyone enjoyed their time off and made lasting memories!

It is my utmost pleasure to share with you our plans to delve into the rich tapestry of our past and bring forth the photos, memories, stories, and traditions that have shaped Massapequa into the extraordinary place it is today through a new initiative - Throwback Thursday!

Spring is finally here, the days are getting longer and there is renewed energy throughout the district.

We just wrapped up the longest February in four years, and it was certainly a busy one in Massapequa.

As I sit to write this brief update and review our January Minute and Moment, I have two thoughts – first, time seems to be flying by! Second, it’s been a productive and truly special January across Massapequa Schools!

As we approach the end of another remarkable year, let us be filled with gratitude for the incredible spirit of Massapequa Schools!

I hope you had an enjoyable and relaxing holiday break, filled with joyous moments with family and friends.

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I find myself reflecting on the incredible sense of gratitude that fills the Massapequa community.

We are excited to announce Massapequa School District Parent University, which is a wonderful new opportunity for parents and educators to come together for an evening of learning and connecting.

The holiday season is officially here, and we hope your hearts are filled with warmth.

As we continually strive to ensure the safety and well-being of our students and staff, I am pleased to share some important updates regarding safety initiatives across Massapequa schools.

We’ve entered the third month of the school year and we’ve officially entered the season of gratitude.

We are excited to announce an upcoming presentation that aims to provide our community with comprehensive information about the upcoming Bond project, which is set to bring an innovative and smart approach to addressing important infrastructure projects across the Massapequa Schools.  

The 2023-24 school year has officially begun and we welcomed nearly 6,500 students into our nine schools over two days. That included 474 kindergartners, the Massapequa High School Class of 2036!

We remind the community about our upcoming bond vote on Tuesday, October 17th. The Board of Education, Buildings and Grounds Committee, Budget and Finance Committee and Central Administration worked diligently to create a plan that addresses critical infrastructure needs while being mindful of our taxpayers.

It feels like our schools just opened, but we’ve already been back for a month.

I hope everyone enjoyed a great summer and spent some fun and relaxing time with family and friends over the past two months. We are just a week away from starting a new school year, and I look forward to enjoying the sights and sounds of learning in progress.
