District Communication

  • 5/7/24: We received notice from ParentLink, our mass email provider, that they are experiencing an ongoing issue with sending the same email message multiple times. At this time, we ask that you please disregard any duplicate messages from our district or schools. Once they resolve the issue, we will provide an update.

    • Blackboard ParentLink System - text and email messages to parents/guardians of in-district students.

  • CHAIN of COMMUNICATION

If parents/guardians have any questions or concerns about their child, they should follow the steps outlined in the: Chain of Communication.

Blackboard ParentLink System

  • For Parents/Guardians of in-district students

This system syncs with contact information in PowerSchool, our Student Information Management System. Utilizing email and text messages, ParentLink informs parents/guardians of in-district students of the following:

    • Student attendance verification
    • Regularly scheduled bus routes with important announcements and delays expected to be over fifteen (15) minutes
    • School closings and delays
    • Emergency alerts

    ParentLink Email Support:
If you are not receiving emails, please do the following in this sequence:

    • Check your spam/junk folder and add no-reply@msd.k12.ny.us to your safe-senders list.
    • Still having an issue, please contact your school's registrar to verify the email address on file in PowerSchool.
    • If contact information in PowerSchool is correct, it is possible your provider (e.g. Hotmail, Optimum, AOL, etc.) is blocking or delaying emails from the Blackboard ParentLink system.
    • If blocked, please contact your provider to share the issue with your email address.
    • If not blocked, please contact your school’s  registrar to update your email address to a different provider.

    ParentLink Text Message Support:
If you are not receiving text messages, please do the following in this sequence:

    • Check your cell phone settings and confirm that the number the texts are coming from has not been blocked.
    • If not blocked, contact your school's registrar to verify that the cell phone # on file in PowerSchool is correct.
    • If cell phone # on file is correct, please email powerschool@msd.k12.ny.us so that the MSD PowerSchool team can review your account in ParentLink.

Routefinder Pro Transportation Email System

  • For Parents/Guardians of private/parochial school students

Our transportation email communication tool, Routefinder Pro, is used to inform the parents/guardians of private/parochial students on regularly scheduled bus routes with important announcements and delays expected to be over fifteen minutes.

    Routefinder Pro Email Support:
If you are not receiving Routefinder Pro emails, please do the following in this sequence:

    • Check your spam/junk folder and add no-reply@msd.k12.ny.us to your safe-senders list.
    • Email powerschool@msd.k12.ny.us to verify the email address on file in PowerSchool.
      • If the email on record is correct, it is possible your provider is blocking or delaying emails from the Routefinder Pro system.
      • If blocked by your provider, please contact the provider to share the issue with your email address or contact Karen Jones as noted above to update your email address to a different provider.

    Community Email Support:
If you are not receiving emails, please do the following in this sequence:
