The Massapequa School District
1/26/23 - Introduction
-
Dear Massapequa Community,
We recently presented and announced a new districtwide communication audit during our January 5, 2023 Board of Education meeting.
This presentation included all of our current communication systems/platforms and how we are committed to:
- Keeping parents informed with school happenings, important events and deadlines.
- Increasing engagement focused on involving multiple stakeholders in decision making.
- Telling the Massapequa Story!
- Simplifying our communication efforts to ensure maximum impact.
We also introduced a new platform called ThoughtExchange. This platform allows us to ask open-ended questions and participants to confidentially share their answers and rate each other’s answers, rather than using a typical survey format. The school district and participants both have the ability to easily navigate the exchange/responses and discover what is most important!
At this time in the communication audit, we invite you to participate in the following ThoughtExchange by answering this question and rating the thoughts of others:
What are the current communication tools and strategies that are meeting your expectations and how can we improve?

After you answer and rate thoughts, we invite you to come back often until February 10, 2023 to rate new ideas.
Quick-tips:
- This Exchange is confidential. Your thoughts will be shared with other participants, but not your identity.
- Please include if your thoughts are a strength or an opportunity for growth.
- Please be polite and respectful as you share and rate thoughts.
- You will see and rate thoughts that others have shared. 5 stars = strongly agree, 1 star = strongly disagree.
- You do not need to rate all thoughts, though it's recommended to rate at least 20.
After this exchange closes on February 10, 2023, we will synthesize the information and establish themes and insights. In addition, we will create a report of results and will share the outcomes with the community this spring.
Thank you for participating in our communication audit and this important ThoughtExchange!
Go Chiefs!
