2018 - 2019 New Student Registration

  • Step 1:  Complete online registration form:

    MSD 2018-19 New Student Registration Form

      • If this is the first child you are registering in the Massapequa School District via the PowerSchool online registration form, you will be required to create a PowerSchool Registration account before you can proceed. This account can be used to register any other children in the future as well. Please Note: This is NOT a PowerSchool Parent Portal account username or password.
      • If you have registered a child previously via the PowerSchool online registration process, please log in with the email address and password used to create your account.  If you have forgotten your password, please utilize the "forgot password" feature located on the login screen.

     Step 2:  Print completed form AFTER you receive the “form completed” message.  

     Step 3:  You will receive an email message from the District Central Registrar in reference to the required documentation needed to complete the registration or enrollment process.  An appointment will also be made, at which time the required documentation will be submitted.

    IMPORTANT: THE REGISTRATION PROCESS IS NOT COMPLETE UNTIL THE REGISTRATION FORM DATA AND ALL DOCUMENTATION IS APPROVED BY THE CENTRAL REGISTRAR.

    If you need assistance with completing the online form, there is a “Help” button on the left side of the screen that provides technical support via email or telephone.  You have access to the “Help” link after you have created your online account.  At this point in the registration process, the technical support is provided by PowerSchool Registration, the online/off-site vendor, not the Massapequa District Central Registrar.  The Massapequa District Central Registrar has no access to your account before the online registration process is completed.

CHANGE OF ADDRESS

  • Parents of students currently enrolled in Massapequa must notify the Central Registrar via email when there is a change in address. This must be done whether or not transportation services are provided or there is a change in school placement. 

    • Notify the Central Registrar at centralregistrar@msd.k12.ny.us
      • Include your child's name, current school and current grade
      • Include your child's current address and new address
      • Upon receipt, the Central Registrar will forward the necessary paperwork to be completed in order to prove residency

    • Please, DO NOT fill out a 2018-2019 New Student Registration form

PRIVATE / PAROCHIAL SCHOOL APPLICATION FOR TRANSPORTATION

  • Residents of the Massapequa School District whose children will be attending a private/parochial school in the 2019-2020 school year may submit an application for transportation.

    Please note the following guidelines and requirements: 

    • APPLICATION DEADLINE IS APRIL 1, 2019
    • ALL MASSAPEQUA RESIDENTS ATTENDING PRIVATE/PAROCHIAL SCHOOL MUST BE REGISTERED WITH THE MASSAPEQUA SCHOOL DISTRICT IN ORDER TO COMPLETE THE APPLICATION AND RECEIVE TRANSPORTATION AND OTHER SERVICES, SUCH AS TEXT BOOKS.
    • Eligiblity guidelines
      • Mileage
        • Kindergarten - more than ½ mile
        • Grades 1 through 9 - more than 1 mile
        • Grades 10 through 12 - more than 1 ½ miles
      •  Transportation is not provided for a school over 15 miles from the residence.
      •  A separate application must be submitted for each child and must be submitted every year, even if a child is currently receiving transportation.

Information for Displaced Families

  • Federal legislation provides options to both parents and school districts for accommodating the educational needs of students during a period when they may be displaced from the regular home, as well as unaccompanied youth.

    • If you are a Massapequa family temporarily displaced to another location, or a youth not accompanied by a parent/guardian, please review the information on the attachments below, and contact the McKinney-Vento Liaison at 516-308-5010.
    • If you are a resident of another school district temporarily staying with a Massapequa family, please contact the District’s McKinney-Vento liaison, Lisa Silveri, at 516-308-5017.
