  • Ames Builds Character...Getting Better Every Day

The Massapequa High School – Ames Campus is home to approximately 475 students. As a “ninth grade only” building, the structure of the MHS Ames Campus is fairly unique to Long Island. MHS Ames Campus offers the best of both worlds to Massapequa’s freshmen as they begin their high school careers. By providing an environment filled with minimal distractions, MHS Ames Campus establishes a positive tone for the students as they take on the rigorous standards mandated by the New York State Department of Education. Ames has a dedicated faculty and strong support staff, allowing students an opportunity to maximize their academic potential before continuing their high school career at the Main Campus.

The Massapequa School District has made a commitment to the students of MHS Ames Campus by offering them a multitude of sport and club opportunities. In addition to numerous ninth grade clubs and teams, Ames and the Main Campus arrange for daily intercampus transportation so that students can participate in activities offered on either campus. Ninth grade students are encouraged to get involved in as many activities as possible.
