Kindergarten Registration Guidelines

  • Dear Parents,

    On behalf of the Massapequa Board of Education and the entire professional staff, it is a pleasure to welcome you and your child to our kindergarten program. Kindergarten is an important time in your child’s life.  It is the beginning of a journey designed to prepare your child for success and instill a lifelong love of learning.

    Step 1: Complete the online registration form: 

      • If this is the first child you are registering with the Massapequa School District via the PowerSchool online registration form, you will be required to create a PowerSchool Registration account before you can proceed. This account can be used to register any other children in the future as well. Please Note: This is NOT a PowerSchool Parent Portal account username or password.

      • If you have registered a child previously via the PowerSchool online registration process, please log in with the email address and password used to create your account.  If you have forgotten your password, please utilize the "forgot password" feature located on the login screen.

      • In order to submit your child's Kindergarten Registration form, you will be required to upload all of the mandatory documentation noted within the application process.  Please be advised that you can begin the form, even if you do not have all of the required documentation on hand, as you have the ability to save and return to the form at any time prior to submission.  Click here for a list of all mandatory documentation.

    Step 2:  After submission, print the completed form for your records

    Step 3:  The building registrar at your child’s home school will review all documentation and contact you either to obtain more information if needed or to let you know that your child's
    registration is complete. 

    Step 4:  Once you receive notification that your child’s registration is complete, you will receive an email containing a parent questionnaire to submit electronically. You will also receive a report from the school nurse documenting completed immunizations and those your child will need to obtain for entrance into school in September 2024.

    IMPORTANT: THE REGISTRATION PROCESS IS NOT COMPLETE UNTIL THE ONLINE REGISTRATION FORM IS SUBMITTED AND ALL MANDATORY DOCUMENTATION IS APPROVED BY THE BUILDING OR DISTRICT CENTRAL REGISTRAR


Technical Support is provided as follows…

  • If a parent needs assistance with completing the online form, there is a “Help” button on the left side of the screen that provides technical support via email or the telephone.  The parent has access to the “Help” link after they have created their online account.  At this point of the registration process, the technical support is provided by PowerSchool Registration, the online/off-site vendor, not the Central Registrar.  The Central Registrar has no access to the account before the online registration is completed.

YMCA Child Care Program

  • The Great South Bay YMCA, in partnership with the Massapequa School District, is pleased to provide a New York State-licensed Before and After School Child Care Program.

    NEW MEMBER LOTTERY:
    Due to the popular demand of the YMCA programs, space is extremely limited. A new member lottery is held each winter (February or March) for the upcoming school year. If you do not get in through the lottery, your name will automatically be placed on a waiting list.
