Kratom

  • Kratom is being brought into the United States from Thailand and sold in loose tea-like form that is also available in capsule form. Loose leaves can be made into a tea. Kratom is reported to cause unpredictable effects that range from being sedating at larger doses to stimulating in smaller doses. The DEA has listed it as a ‘drug of concern’ but not as a controlled substance. Therefore, dosage is unreliable which contributes to the unpredictable nature of the substance and hence the inherent danger. Unfortunately, it is easily attainable on the internet, in local vape shops and other venues.
