Parent/Guardian Emails

  • Parent/Guardian School and Grade-Level Emails: Our email communication tool, Blackboard ParentLink, syncs with email information in our Student Management System, PowerSchool. If you need to update email information, please contact your school’s General Office and ask to speak with the building registrar. If you would like to be removed from email communications, please click on the unsubscribe link in the email footer. 

    Parent Support: Check your spam/junk folder and add no-reply@msd.k12.ny.us to your safe-senders list. In addition, contact your school's registrar to check the email address we have on file in PowerSchool. If correct, it is possible your provider is blocking or delaying emails from the Blackboard Parentlink system. If blocked, please contact your provider to share the issue with your email address or contact the building registrar to update your email address to a different provider. 

    Alert: @Optimum.net and @Optonline.net Parent Link Emails - Optimum blocked emails from our Blackboard Parent Link system. At this time, parents with Optimum email addresses can contact Optimum to share the issue with their email address or contact their building registrar to update their email address to a non-Optimum email address.


Bus Parent/Guardian Emails

  • Parent/Guardian Bus Emails: Our bus email communication tool, RoutefinderGo, is used to inform parents/guardians of students on regularly scheduled bus routes with important announcements and delays expected to be over fifteen minutes. If a student attends MSD schools, the tool syncs with email information in our Student Management System, PowerSchool, and our bus route numbers in Transfinder. If a student attends a private/parochial school, our system syncs with email information we have on file and our bus route numbers in Transfinder. If you need to update email information, please contact your school’s General Office and ask to speak with the building registrar (MSD Students) or our Transportation Department (Private/Parochial Students). If you would like to be removed from bus email communications, please contact our Transportation Department at transportation@msd.k12.ny.us or 516.308.5065.

Community Emails

  • Community Member Emails: Parents/guardians will receive these emails on their school email list(s), so they do not have to subscribe.

    Community members, please visit our Community Email Subscriptions page located on our Community drop-down to subscribe to Community emails, which includes BOE, community activities, and school closure/delay emails. After, you will be prompted in your email to "Verify your Blackboard account" by clicking on the link. If you would like to be removed from email communications, please click on the unsubscribe link in the email footer.

    Community Support: Check your spam/junk folder and add no-reply@msd.k12.ny.us to your safe-senders list. If you continue to have issues, please re-subscribe. If you continue to have issues after you re-subscribe, it is possible your provider is blocking or delaying emails sent from the Blackboard Parentlink system. If blocked, please contact your provider to share the issue with your email address or re-subscribe using a different email address/provider.
