    This web-based, home-to-school communication tool gives parents of students in grades K-12 access to teacher email addresses, the district Absence Notification Form, child username/password information, and Schoology parent account creation steps/code. In addition, both parents and secondary students can access real-time student schedules, attendance, academic class grades, assessment information, teacher comments, Honor Roll achievements and more.

    Students in Grades 6-12 have access to the PowerSchool Student Portal using their network username and password.

      • P1 - P4:  Mid-Quarters 1- 4
      • Q1 - Q4: Quarters 1 - 4
      • E1:  Midterm Exam
      • F1:  Final Exam for S1 Course
      • R1 / C1:  Jan. Regents/Common Core Exam
      • F2:  June Final Exam
      • R6 / C6:  June Regents/Common Core Exam

PowerSchool Mobile App

  • ACCESSING THE POWERSCHOOL MOBILE APP

    The PowerSchool Mobile App is available to all parents and secondary students who have an active parent portal or student portal account. 

    It includes the following features:

    • Parents/Guardians have anytime, anywhere access to the Student Notification Absence form and other school forms.
    • Parents/Guardians and secondary students have anytime, anywhere access to assignments, grades, attendance and school bulletins.
    • Push Notifications
      • Users have the option to receive real-time app notifications about grades and/or attendance.
        • Grades:  an app notification is forwarded upon the change of a student's overall average. 
        • Attendance:  an app notification is pushed each and every time an attendance code is entered into a student's record.  Please note that if a teacher marks a student absent from a class (UNV) the parent/guardian will receive an immediate notification.  If the absence is due to a music lesson or a lateness, another notification will be sent when the UNV is reconciled and changed to an MU (music lesson) or ULC (unverified late to class) or ELC (verified late to class).  Please note that the update may not be immediate, depending on when the attendance office receives notification from the music teacher or when the student arrives to class.

    TROUBLESHOOTING
    If at any time a parent/guardian or student experiences issues with accessing the mobile app, please follow these steps:

    • Confirm that the app has been updated to the latest version
    • Delete the app and reinstall
    • Send an email to powerschool@msd.k12.ny.us
