6/07/24 - UPDATE FROM DR. BRENNAN

  • Hello to our Massapequa Family,

Over the past months, our community has actively participated in the ThoughtExchange journey to develop the Portrait of a Massapequa Graduate. I can’t thank you enough for the incredible levels of engagement!  With over 4,500 participants sharing thoughts and providing ratings, we’ve identified several key themes which will shape the final product of our Portrait!

I want to invite you to help rank your top thoughts (please select at least 10 from the list) using the Google Form link below.  The themes on this Google Form encompass the many qualities, skills, character traits, and competencies that rose to the top of the exchange. By submitting your responses to the Google form, you will further assist us in narrowing down the priorities.

5/01/24 - Update from Dr. Brennan

  • To our Massapequa Family,

I hope you all enjoyed a rejuvenating Spring recess. It’s wonderful to see everyone back today, energized and ready to go!

I wanted to send a quick reminder that our Portrait of a Massapequa Graduate ThoughtExchange is still open, but only for two more days. This exchange will close on Friday, May 3rd at 6pm.

I just posted a new video reminder located at www.youtube.com/massapequaps and wanted to invite you one last time to revisit the exchange and offer your final thoughts and ratings -

Portrait of a Massapequa Graduate ThoughtExchange

Can you believe we are now at 3,747 participants, with 3,330 thoughts shared and nearly 87,000 ratings!!! I've got a little challenge for us - can we aim to break the impressive milestone of over 100,000 ratings together?

Once again, a huge thank you for your time, your insightful contributions, and your unwavering commitment to our mission.

    Sincerely,

     WB

4/18/24 - Update from Dr. Brennan

  • To our Massapequa Family,

WOW! We're thrilled by the incredible engagement in our Portrait of a Massapequa Graduate ThoughtExchange! In just one week, we've already had over 1,700 participants and received a whopping 32,000 ratings.

But guess what? Our journey is only just beginning! I wanted to share three quick suggestions on how you can get involved:

    1. Jump In: Haven't shared your thoughts yet? Now's the perfect time! Whether you have one idea or many, we want to hear from you. And don't forget to let us know which thoughts resonate with you the most by rating them.

    2. Come Back: Already contributed? Fantastic! Feel free to dive back in anytime to add new ideas or show your support for the ones you love. Your continued engagement is crucial to shaping our students' future.

    3. Engage Together: Why not make it a family affair? Take a moment to chat with your child about the qualities and skills they think are important for graduates. Then, hop on the ThoughtExchange together to share your insights and rate others' thoughts.

Question: What are the qualities and skills our students should have when they graduate from the Massapequa School District to become capable, creative and responsible members of our society?

4/10/24 - A Message from Dr. Brennan

  • To our Massapequa Family,

I hope this message finds you brimming with anticipation for the exciting journey ahead! As Superintendent of Massapequa Schools, I'm thrilled to announce the launch of our "Portrait of a Massapequa Graduate" through a ThoughtExchange.

Portrait of a Massapequa Graduate ThoughtExchange

At the core of our educational mission beats a commitment to excellence, continuous improvement, and honoring our timeless shared values and traditions. This collaboration offers us the opportunity to build on the Massapequa experience by harnessing the collective wisdom, values, and innovation to shape the future of our schools.

To get a comprehensive understanding of our objectives and how you can dive in, I encourage you to watch the video outlining the purpose and significance of this endeavor. You'll find one version tailored for adults, and I couldn't resist adding a touch of fun with a student edition!

I'm thrilled about the potential ahead and the positive impact on our students and community. Your involvement is absolutely crucial, so I urge you to join us in shaping the future of Massapequa Schools. Thank you for your unwavering support and commitment to excellence.

Let's embark on this journey together, united in our vision for the future.

    ThoughtExchange - Quick-tips:

    • This Exchange is confidential. Your thoughts will be shared with other participants, but not your identity.
    • Please include if your thoughts are a strength or an opportunity for growth.
    • Please be polite and respectful as you share and rate thoughts.
    • You will see and rate thoughts that others have shared. 5 stars = strongly agree, 1 star = strongly disagree.
    • You do not need to rate all thoughts, though it's recommended to rate at least 20.
    • After you answer and rate thoughts, we invite you to come back often until May 3.

After this exchange closes on May 3, we will be synthesizing and sharing the information with established themes and insights for additional community feedback. We’ll keep you updated along the way and thank you so much for joining the conversation!

    Thank you for your support!

    WB
