    7th Grade students in Mrs. Robertson's Health Class are learning about Mental/Emotional Health : Stress. They are learning about the 5 Senses Grounding Technique. Students worked in groups in the 5 different stations to try each of the techniques.

    October Berner Learners

    Berner Learners is an education initiative at Berner. Students are recognized for exemplifying strong character attributes and academic effort. Working together with the Character Education Club, while also recalling "The 16 Habits of Mind" by Costa and Kallick, the Berner houses select five students each month that demonstrate the five core attributes of Achievement, Character, Attitude, Effort, and Improvement.

    The tale of the grumpy ogre and the princess with a deep, dark secret is coming to the Berner Middle School stage on Nov. 22 and 23. A cast of 80 sixth, seventh and eighth grade students will perform “Shrek the Musical.”

    Thanksgiving Food Drive

    After a weeklong food drive in November, Berner Middle School’s student council members witnessed the impact of their efforts with a visit to a local food pantry. On November 8th, student council officers loaded boxes of nonperishable goods onto a school bus and headed to the Our Lady of Lourdes parish outreach center in Massapequa Park.
