    Berner Students Do A Dry Run For New School Year

    Berner Middle School opened its doors for Tour the Schedule on Aug. 27 and 28. All sixth, seventh and eighth graders were welcome to visit the building and find their classes for the 2024-25 school year.

    The artwork of more than 1,000 students was prominently displayed at Berner Middle School for the annual grades 6-8 art show on June 5. The gymnasium-turned-gallery was bustling with students and their family members for the evening showcase.

    As they plot their own paths for success, sixth graders at Berner Middle School are looking to notable athletes and entertainers as examples. Students in Theresa LiCausi’s English language arts classes recently completed digital slideshows to culminate the “Recipe for Success” unit.

    “Beware of what you’re posting. It will follow you.” That was the guidance from a pair of Nassau County police officers who recently visited Berner Middle School in the Massapequa School District to talk about internet and social media safety.

    Love of Language Brings all Learners Together

    Youngsters were invited to discover the world at the Massapequa School District’s 19th annual World Language Festival on March 14. The event was held at Massapequa High School and featured activities celebrating the five languages taught in the district – American Sign Language, French, German, Mandarin Chinese and Spanish.

    Berner’s Annual St. Patrick’s Day flower sale will take place on March 14th & 15th to honor the life of Gail Cook. Gail Cook touched the lives of over 2,000 students during her 18 years as an ELA teacher in Massapequa.
